About Us

Tapfactory is an arts magazine, based at Warwick University and produced by the Arts Publication Society.

We publish poetry, short stories, excerpts from longer works, paintings, photos, sketches, drama skits, monologues, literature in translation, doodles, flashes, creative non-fiction – all done by Warwick students.

Our aim is to offer the campus something it was lacking – an accessible and non-pretentious space for its students to get their creativity seen. Submissions are welcome from anybody – you don’t need to have had anything published previously, nor do you need to do an English degree.

Most importantly, we are a society, not just a magazine. How Tapfactory looks, what it includes, and how it’s put together – these are all issues to discuss, debate and get involved with. We hold regular meetings on campus as well as regular socials all over the place.

In December we celebrated our first birthday at the Jug and Jester, Leamington, complete with readings from the new issue and performances from The Rrrs, Ivan Dobsky and Ben Osborn.

2008 promises another fantastic issue (with a few surprises in store), involvement in the National Writers’ Festival and Warwick Student Arts Festival, as well as an exciting social out in Birmingham.

Please support Tapfactory by joining the Arts Publication Society through the Students’ Union website (www.sunion.warwick.ac.uk).

ISSUE FOUR IS OUT NOW. If you missed our stall in Week 10, we’ll be selling copies for the cheapcheap price of 50p at the Refreshers’ Fair, Friday Week 1 of next term. If you can’t make this but still want to pick up a Tapfactory before they all go, email s.c.morris@warwick.ac.uk. All money goes towards printing costs.
